Humans are adults, or animals is one who has grown in all its potential. The term "adult" is often employed in relation to human beings to refer to the legal and social aspects. Legal adult means a person attains the age of maturity and can be considered independent, self sufficient as well as responsible. The term "major" is a term used to describe the person. 18 is the typical legally-adulted age at which you can become an adult but this could be different depending on your country and status in law, and also psychological maturity.

Adulthood is the time that a person has reached full maturity both in physical and mental development. The typical age for adulthood is the age of 21, or 20. The middle age is about 40 years old and is followed by the elderly age of 60. Adulthood is divided into three distinct stages: Early adulthood (18-30 years) and Middle Adulthood (30-60 years) and Late adulthood (60%-60 percent). As we enter the initial stages of adulthood (between 20 and 40) the bodies of our children have reached their full maturity even though our height and weight might increase a bit. As we enter our early adulthood our physical capabilities are at their best which includes the strength of our muscles, our reaction speed as well as sensory capabilities, the functioning of our heart.
