The meaning that adults have in biology is a term used to describe an animal that is capable of reproducing. In the human context, the term adult has meanings associated with the legal and social world. A legal adult, in contrast to "minors" (also known as non-adults) can be defined as someone of the majority age and thus considered to be independent, responsible as well as independent. Legal adults can also be referred to as a major. The age for achieving legally adulthood is 18 however, definitions can differ based on laws, countries and the level of development in psychological terms.

When a human reaches full physical and intellectual maturity, it is referred to as adulthood. The age of adulthood typically begins at an age that is 21. After middle age (starting around age 40) then comes the age of old age (around the age of 60). The three main stages of adulthood are early adulthood (from mid-30s to late-60s), middle adulthood from the mid-30s through late-60s, and finally adulthood, (mid-60s until death). As we enter early adulthood the body is at the fullest physical maturation. But, the body's size and weight could rise. As we enter our early twenties, our physical abilities are at their maximum. They include strength of muscles and speed of reaction.
