Laura Linney's portrayals of vulnerable and yet powerful characters have earned her a place among the top American actors. After spending the summers at the company of her father Laura Linney was captivated with theatre. After that, at Brown University she studied acting as well as Juilliard School, after which she began her acting career. She began her Broadway career after completing her degree in the year 2000, before making her TV debut in the next year. She has been featured on many shows on stage, television and film shows since that time. Throughout her career, she has received many awards, which include two Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards as well as three Academy Award nominations and five Tony Award nominations. In spite of numerous awards, theatre has remained her primary passion and she continues to perform both in stage and on the screen.
